International Experience: University College London; Writers in Paris; Yonsei International Summer School
Location: London, United Kingdom; Paris, France; Seoul, South Korea

I’m a senior in the English department who is originally from northern New Jersey. During my junior year spring semester, I studied at University College London for five months, taking three English literature courses and one fun ELCS (European Languages, Culture, & Society) course about superhero movies. UCL is especially renowned for English, and I most enjoyed my Modern Lit class where we studied films under the theme of ‘Troubled Masculinity.’ Outside of academics, I was able to travel to 9 countries outside the UK (and other cities in the UK, like Bath) during the semester. I stayed in a well-connected dorm near King’s Cross. As a writer and novelist, London was an ideal city for inspiration, with no shortage of coffeeshops and Waterstones bookstores to work in.
After my semester in London, I studied abroad at Yonsei International Summer School in Seoul, South Korea for 6 weeks. Previously, I studied in Paris, France for 4 weeks in a creative writing program the summer after my freshman year. I also briefly lived in Kathmandu, Nepal the summer after sophomore year. I am able to speak to living abroad in all of these destinations, so feel free to reach out with any questions!
