Bio/Description

Major: Philosophy
College: New College West
International Experience: University of Oxford, Worcester College
Location: Oxford, England

My name is Sebastian Hayden. I’m a senior in the Philosophy department with certificates in Medieval Studies, Hellenic Studies, and Humanistic Studies. I’m from Southern California. In the spring of 2023, I studied abroad at Worcester College, one of thirty-nine colleges at the University of Oxford in England. I studied there for two terms, Hilary and Trinity, which was roughly equivalent to one semester at Princeton. I had an incredibly enriching academic experience taking tutorials in ancient and medieval philosophy. Studying at Worcester greatly stimulated my desire to pursue graduate study in philosophy. I also made many new friends, especially through my involvement in the Canterbury Institute. During the six-week Easter vacation, I had ample time to travel around the United Kingdom and to Spain, as well as to catch up on independent work for Princeton. Coming back to Princeton after time spent elsewhere, I feel more academically focused and ready to make the most of senior year. Please reach out with any questions about studying at Oxford!

Student organization(s) I'm a part of at Princeton:
Human Values Forum, Behrman Undergraduate Society of Fellows, James Madison Program, The Tiger Inn, Princeton University Numismatic Collection, Aquinas Institute
