Bio/Description

This summer I was able to explore my interest in international finance and Asian markets. I worked with BDA Partners at their Hong Kong office. BDA Partners is the world-leading global investment banking advisor for Asia. The company is a premium provider of Asia-related advice to global clients, with over 25 years’ experience advising on cross-border M&A, capital raising, and financial restructuring. BDA focuses on 7 sectors across their 9 offices with a recently added sustainability sector. BDA’s focus on Asia and Asia-related transactions is unique as no other independent advisor has the scale of dedicated M&A bankers across Asia. Since starting my internship, I have been working with two sectors; Technology and Industrials.

I mainly did work in our industrial and technology sector. I contributed to pitch books for live deals and leveraged my analytical tools in financial modeling and valuation. My role also involved working on live cross-border transactions by doing various valuation tasks. Despite Hong Kong being a densely populated city, I was able to enjoy the city’s proximity to nature, as I would often go hiking on weekends. I was drawn to Hong Kong due to its former status as a European colony, its current status as a Special Administrative Region of China given its global role in international finance. During my internship, I also visited Macau, which is another Special Administrative Region of China.
