During my internship, I dedicated my efforts to the 12th International Memorial Day for Japanese Military, "Comfort Women." The Korean Council is a leading organization dedicated to addressing historical injustices, particularly those related to the Japanese military's sexual slavery during World War II. The organization plays a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of survivors, educating the public, and promoting international solidarity on issues of human rights and historical memory. In the International Solidarity section, our focus was on building global connections, raising awareness, and fostering collaborative efforts to ensure that these historical injustices are acknowledged and addressed worldwide.
My responsibilities ranged from translating official documents to organizing a group that devoted five weeks to creating and managing a booth for the Butterfly Festival. One of my key contributions was leading the creation of a web page designed to serve as a global platform for individuals to express solidarity with the victims of Japanese military sexual slavery. This project was integrated with the War and Women's Human Rights Museum where visitors could contribute their voices by uploading photos of their messages of support, further extending the project's impact as an ongoing, global expression of solidarity.
Outside of work, I attended a busking performance in Hongdae, and I took up yoga classes.
