I am a senior in the English department with minors in History and American Studies, originally from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In the Spring of 2024, I studied abroad in London, England at University College London. During my time outside of the Orange Bubble, I was able to immerse myself in the city where so much iconic English Literature is set. Whether I was wandering around the streets of Primrose Hill (where Sylvia Plath lived and penned many of her works), or enjoying a rendition of Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare’s Globe, my time abroad truly enabled me to bring the classroom to life. Unique to UCL’s English Department, the one-on-one Tutorial system allowed me to hone my writing and engage in exciting discussions around literature, strengthening both my papers for UCL, as well as my independent work.

Outside of academics, I spent time exploring every corner of London, and making friends from the UK, and around the world! Though UCL’s John Dodgson House was my beloved home-base, I was also lucky enough to take many trips outside of England, visiting over 20 cities across Europe. I particularly loved the visiting the Amalfi Coast (it really is worth the hype!), as well spending time with friends in Budapest and Prague, and embarking on a 7-day hiking trip along Spain’s Camino Del Santiago. Abroad was truly one of my most cherished experiences at Princeton, allowing me to grow as both a student and a person, and I would encourage anyone who’s interested to reach out! Cheerio!
