Bio/Description

Gisella Gisolo is the Director of the Study Abroad Program at Princeton, where she oversees program operations and strategy. Gisella serves as the first point of contact for undergraduate students going to Italy and is responsible for making final decisions on petition programs. She was born in Italy, where she studied philosophy and cultural anthropology at the Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia and received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Florence. Prior to joining Princeton, Gisella served as the Director of International and Off-campus Education at Lafayette College, and as the Director of the Global Citizenship Program (a four-year interdisciplinary certificate program) at Lehigh University. She has also been a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she taught courses in ethics and philosophy. As an undergraduate student, Gisella studied abroad at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom; Mainz University in Germany; and Université Paris VII in France. Outside of work, Gisella loves to spend time with her family enjoying the outdoors, art, and traveling.
