Bio/Description

This summer, I interned as a research assistant on an economics project examining the impact of women in entrepreneurship. My project focused on collecting and organizing data on international public companies through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Our primary goal was to determine the effect of the 2018 SB 826 law, which requires public corporations headquartered in California to include at least women on their boards. My data collection mainly consisted of parsing through each company’s subsidiary data from the year they became public, and recording the subsidiary name and its location for later regression analysis. Additionally, I conducted literature reviews to deepen my understanding of the topic. Overall, I had a really fun and enriching experience in Singapore, not only meeting some amazing people but also solidifying my interest in finance, bringing me one step closer to my career aspirations.

I had the opportunity to visit the local tourist spots such as Gardens by the Bay, the NightTime Safari, the Singapore Flyer, etc. I also attended cooking classes where I cooked dishes from various cuisines.
