Hi! I’m Avani, class of 2024 and a junior studying Molecular Biology and Global Health and Health Policy. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and studied abroad my junior fall at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Going abroad was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made at Princeton and I cannot recommend the ETH Zurich exchange program enough. I took all biology lab courses while abroad, so my academics centered around being a research student, which helped inspire my senior thesis. After classes I would be exploring the Swiss Alps, eating chocolate, and visiting Christmas Markets with other exchange students that came from countries all around the world. These students eventually became lifelong friends that I still stay in touch with. My weekends were spent photographing and exploring new countries and by the end of the semester I was able to visit 15 different countries. Studying abroad felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity and I don’t think I’d get to experience anything like it again.

Student organization(s) I'm a part of at Princeton:
Princeton Public Health Review (Co-Editor-in-Chief), Whig-Cliosophic Society, PrincetonBiotech, Princeton Photography Club, HOSA, Mcgraw Tutor

Feel free to also ask me about:
Study abroad as an Asian-American student, pre-med student, STEM concentrator, and independent research while abroad
