Princeton views international education as an integral part of the undergraduate experience and encourages all students to participate in a significant international experience before graduation.
During the academic year, the University offers comprehensive financial aid to eligible students for approved study abroad costs. During the summer, when regular financial aid is not available, the Study Abroad Program accepts applications for funding through the Dean’s Fund while the Office of Financial Aid offers summer savings replacement aid and loans to help meet program costs. Both opportunities are available pending eligibility. Students are encouraged to apply to several funding options to maximize funding, which include individual funders, outside scholarships, and other campus opportunities for financial support.
Since financial aid and funding opportunities differ for the academic year and summer, we encourage you to review the relevant webpages in this section to learn about financial opportunities for your applicable term abroad.
