Critical Language Scholarship Essay Workshop

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) program is an eight-week summer language and culture program for U.S. citizens of ALL class years. Apply to study one of the following languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, or Urdu. Prerequisites vary by language; consult the CLS website for more information. In this workshop, participants will review strategies for crafting effective CLS essays.

Bonus: Dr. Gump will review your revised essays after the workshop if you (a) register by November 3 by emailing fellow@princeton.edu with your name, your CLS language, and the number of years you will have studied the language by summer 2022; (b) attend the November 4 workshop; and (c) send your revised essays to Dr. Gump by 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 9.
